Trump began his term with an income and estate-tax giveaway to those who financed his campaign, his fat-cat friends, the ones who hang out at his clubs and golf courses. He sold the plan to his adoring cult with some meager perks for the lower-income taxpayers but those perks have limited life, expiration dates. They won't notice until it's gone, but Trump will be too.

Remember when he said, "I love debt"? He does because he's accustomed to walking away from it. Bankruptcies, paying contractors pennies on the dollar in settlements they can't afford not to accept because to not do so would mean months or more fighting for what they earned,  And big lenders who for some unknown reason extend his repayment. Some may guess what's in it for them.

To apply this debt behavior to the US had a purpose, it was to make Trump look good. And we all know appearance is everything for this showman. Sure the economy boomed; who can't look good on credit. But eventually, the credit card statement arrives and payment is expected. 

When that statement comes, President Biden will be the one who will be expected to make good on Trump's extravagant theater. Who will make the most noise about the debt then?
